Paula Vang, O.D.

Dr. Vang is a native of Sacramento. She received her B.S. from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and her Optometry degree in 2014 from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, CA. During her studies, Dr. Vang served on a medical mission to El Salvador providing eye exams and glasses to those in need. Following her graduation, Dr. Vang spent a few years caring for patients in Walnut Creek, Fairfield, and other regions of California. She is a member of the California Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Thousands of patients have entrusted their eye care to Dr. Vang! When she’s not in the office, Dr. Vang enjoys making memories with her husband and two boys. Ask about their dog Coco, too, the next time you visit the office!

Sandy Nguyen, o.d.

Dr. Nguyen graduated from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Florida in 2007. Her experience includes managing an independent optometric clinic, working alongside ophthalmologists at Delta Eye Medical Group, and most recently providing eye care to the underserved population of nursing homes, behavioral health facilities, and senior care centers. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, gardening, hiking, cooking, and hanging out with her family and friends.

carol lafradez, o.d.

Dr. Lafradez earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2019. She graduated as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. After several years of serving the Rialto community in Southern California, Dr. Lafradez recently returned home to Sacramento. In her spare time, she loves to travel, explore new restaurants, and spend quality time with her loved ones.

liz, Office manager

Liz is a Sacramento transplant from Southern California who moved here to pursue higher education at Sacramento State. She loves the more relaxed vibe of our city. Not only is she the first person you may meet, she is usually also one of the last people to walk you through your eye care journey; whether it’s regarding the best lens selection, or helping you pick up your newly-made order - Liz is always eager to assist. Say hello – or hola – to Liz at your next appointment!

Kao, Front Desk

Kao is the first friendly face you’ll meet at Vang Family Optometry. She is usually the person to answer your initial questions over the phone or at check-in. She is passionate about reception and you’ll see it in her care for you. She’ll try her best to direct you to the right staff if she doesn’t know the answer, so don’t hesitate to speak to her. Kao has two lovely cats in her kin whom she adores, and will be ecstatic if you want to talk about what they’re up to!

Cynthia, Optometric assistant

Our newest addition, Cynthia, is eager to help you get through a few pre-tests and also assists in the optical. She is bilingual and can help our Spanish speaking patients thoroughly understand what to expect during a visit. You’ll see her providing excellent customer service and ensuring everyone has been noticed and heard. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pets, cat and a dog.

Anthony, lab manager

You won’t see him very much, but that’s simply because he is very busy making sure your orders are being processed efficiently and there are no errors. He makes sure everything runs smoothly once the order is in, and is the reason why you get your order on time! In his free time, Anthony loves to stay fit and fish. Feel free to have a quick chat with him next time you stop by!
